Lera, the founder of the Valehrerin.School online language school, reached out to me. She is an exceptionally creative person whose core philosophy is: "Language learning can be exciting."
She is constantly coming up with new ideas for her students to make language learning a true pleasure. One of her favorite formats is learning through movie breakdowns paired with custom exercises.
At that time, the school's website—which we had built together—had already been running successfully for about a year, featuring dedicated pages for various products (guides, movie & song breakdowns). For this "Letzte Weihnacht" movie analysis, we needed to create a separate landing page as well.
( The task)
SHOW US AS WE TRULY ARE, ATTRACTING THE EXACT PEOPLE WHO RESONATE WITH OUR APPROACH AND FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH US
( The goal)
THE WEBSITE SHOULD BE INFORMATIVE, WELCOMING, AND FRIENDLY WITH CLEAR CONTENT PRESENTATION, MAKING CLIENTS THINK "I WANT THIS!"

I wanted to convey Christmas magic, warmth, and coziness through the site's design. To achieve this, I departed from the school's standard templates to create a unique page reflecting Lera's warmth and care.
We also needed to fully automate the sales process so Lera could focus on what she loves, while the system automatically handled payments and instantly delivered materials via email upon purchase.
PREPARATION
I managed the entire project independently: from concept and analytics to final layout and automation setup. But let’s break it down step by step.
Since Lera and I had been collaborating for a long time, we skipped an extensive briefing. I was already deeply immersed in the concept of learning languages through movies and songs, so a brief text outline from her—target audience, creation story, language level, and the core idea—was more than enough.
Audience and competitor analysis had already been conducted globally for the main project earlier. Therefore, this phase was kept brief.
I structured the layout quickly by adapting existing site pages to showcase movie-based learning from a fresh angle.
And then came the most exciting part.
Text
Website copy was one of the most critical tasks. It was essential to capture Lera’s unique communication style: her sincerity, energy, and genuine passion for language learning.
To achieve this, I
(1)
Analyzed Lera's Instagram and Telegram channels, noting down her favorite phrases, intonations, and tone of voice when communicating with students.
(2)
Used GPT as an AI assistant, feeding it transcripts of Lera's audio to train it on her tone of voice, generating dozens of copy options.
(3)
Hand-picked and refined the generated drafts to assemble the final copy puzzle.
(4)
The final copy turned out truly authentic. Both Lera and I were thrilled, and we were ready to move on to the next phase.
MOODBOARD
The process started with deep research. To capture the right atmosphere, I rewatched the movie, taking dozens of screenshots to find design hooks.
At some point, I realized that London itself acts as a character in the film. Its historic streets, cozy café signs, and festive lights shaped the overall concept. The core idea became using delicate line patterns for backgrounds—light and ornate, reminiscent of wrought-iron details on London bridges and Christmas storefronts.
DESIGN
"Letzte Weihnacht" is a warm, tender, and enchanting movie. I aimed to reflect this festive magic and coziness through the visual design using several techniques:
(1) Hero Section
FALLING SNOW ON THE HERO SCREEN IMMEDIATELY SETS A WINTER MOOD AND CELEBRATORY ATMOSPHERE
(2) Color Palette
I USED THE SAME SHADES FEATURED IN LERA’S STUDY MATERIALS—DEEP GREEN AND RED—BUT MUTED THEM TO HIGHLIGHT THE CONTENT ELEGANTLY
(3) Background
TO KEEP THE STRUCTURE DYNAMIC, SECTIONS WERE DIVIDED BY MOOD. CINEMATIC DARK BACKGROUNDS FOR MOVIE CONTENT CREATED A THEATER EFFECT, WHILE LIGHT AND AIRY SECTIONS REFLECTED THE AUTHOR'S OPENNESS AND EXPERTISE
HANDWRITTEN FONTS WERE ADDED AS ACCENTS TO SIMULATE PERSONAL NOTES OR HANDWRITTEN MARGINS IN A NOTEBOOK
(4) Handwritten Accents
A SOFT MAGICAL CURSOR TRAIL RESEMBLING SPARKLES
HEADINGS REVEAL SMOOTHLY AS IF APPEARING THROUGH FROSTED GLASS
SUBTLE SHIMMER EFFECT ON BULLET POINTS RESEMBLING TWINKLING STARS
(5) Animation
Received this lovely feedback right after presenting the design
AUTOMATION
Финал
The final technical touch was setting up automatic delivery.
Once a student purchases the guide, all materials are sent instantly to their email. Completely automated, using a proven system we configured earlier.
Награды
But the story didn't end there. I loved this project so much that I submitted it to international design competitions, winning three awards:
Guru of the DAY
(Web Guru Awards)
(Top Design King)
King Of The Day
Site of The Day
(BEST CSS)
( P.S )
I AM INCREDIBLY GRATEFUL TO WORK WITH CLIENTS WHO TURN MY WORK INTO SOMETHING MAGICAL, ALLOWING ME TO CREATE THIS ENCHANTMENT THROUGH MEANING, DESIGN, AND ANIMATION.
